Without a doubt, the online casino game, blackjack is one of the most popular casino games around. The main reason for which is that the player will have control over the result of each game, as opposed to most casino games, where the player has little to no control over what the outcome would be. With that said, a lot of people have found the game to be one of the most entertaining casino games ever.
The Game
Right before proceeding on to the online casino strategies, you have to understand the mechanics of the game first. The game’s objective is for the player to beat the dealer by acquiring a hand that is as close to 21 as much as possible. The number cards have the value depending on their respective numbers and the face cards have the value of 10. The ace card however, can have a value of either 1 or 11, depending on the circumstance. The player has a number of options to choose from when making his move. He can “hit” where he will be dealt another card, he can “stand” if he is satisfied with the hand he has, he can “double” which basically doubles his bet, he can “split” if he want to play more hands, and there are games which let the player take “insurance” or “surrender” as well. Of course, if the player’s hand exceeds the value of 21, then he automatically loses and the same goes for the dealer. If the player then gets a hand that is equal to 21, then he automatically wins, even if the dealer also hits 21.
Winning with the Basic Strategy
When you think that you now have a deep understanding of the game’s mechanics, then you can then proceed on to the basic online casino strategy. While the basic strategy does sound “basic”, it is by no means an easy thing to learn. What you will need to do is to take a look at different charts based on the blackjack variation you are playing and base your actions depending on a couple of things, namely the dealer’s show card, and your cards. One of the most important things to remember to at least have a fighting chance against the dealer is to make sure that you play when your hand totals to at least 17. The dealer only plays hands that are equal to or greater than 17, and if the player ends up with a 16, then the player will lose unless if the dealer busts.
